Why ride with the Rockhampton Cycling Club?
The Rockhampton Cycling Club has been part of the Rockhampton community for over 100 years. Traditionally the cycling disciplines of Road and Track have been the main focus. But with the emerging disciplines of Gravel and Cyclocross and the interest from our members, we now also offer these events on our calendar. We also collaborate with other AusCycling clubs to give our members plenty of opportunities to participate in a variety of events. Kenrick Tucker Velodrome although traditionally used for Track cycling, has also taken on a broader purpose and can be used by Road bikes as a safe alternative to those who don't want to ride on busy roads (good for beginners). But the newest feature added is the Cyclocross track, where you can ride your Gravel, Cyclocross or Mountain bikes on. So whatever your cycling aspirations are from a social ride, a training session or some competitive action, we can find you and your bike a discipline that suits you. As many of our members often say "You can never have too many bikes". So, what are you waiting for! Experience our community for yourself. Discover the joy of riding on two wheels.

AusCycling is the Cycling National Sporting Organisation (NSO). It is the peak governing body responsible for managing, developing and promoting Cycling across Australia. Our club is affiliated with AusCycling. When you sign up as a member of our club you pay our membership fee and also the AusCycling Membership Fee. All you need to do is choose the level of the AusCycling membership that's right for you.
AusCycling membership matters to our club.
Every club race, social ride and training session we run is covered by AusCycling insurance. Without it, we can't hold events, access venues or put volunteers on course. It also assists with club functions such as membership management, grant funding eligibility, governance resources and access to accredited courses. It's the foundation our whole club runs on.

Common questions
What's the difference between Ride, Club and Race?
Ride is for social riding –group rides, club activities, no racing. Club adds club and inter–club racing across all disciplines. Race adds state and national competition, plus a UCI licence. You can upgrade between products any time during the year.
Why do memberships go through AusCycling?
AusCycling is Australia's national cycling body. All sanctioned club racing requires AusCycling membership –and it's how your 24/7 insurance is provided. Your club fee comes on top of your AusCycling membership, and goes directly to supporting Rockhampton Cycling Club.
Does my insurance cover me everywhere?
Yes. AusCycling membership includes 24/7 personal accident and public liability insurance –covering training rides, club rides and your daily commute, not just events. See the full insurance details at auscycling.org.au/insurance.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. All AusCycling memberships are annual, with the option to pay monthly. Monthly payments are based on the annual price divided across 12 months –no extra cost.
What if I'm not sure which membership I need?
If you plan to race at club events, start with Club. If you want to compete at state or national level, go with Race. If you just want to ride with the club and stay covered, Ride is the one. You can always upgrade during the year –you only pay the price difference.
