The Ernie Frisch Memorial cup was presented to the Amateur Wheelers of Rockhampton by his parents, Mr & Mrs W. C. Frisch. It was a Handicap Road event to be competed for annually and it was run as close as possible to the anniversary of his birthday the 16th November. Ernie Frisch had joined the R.A.N. during World War 2. He was 21 years old, when he and the crew of the ill-fated cruiser HMAS Sydney were lost off the Western Australian coast following an encounter with the German ship Kormoran, in November 1941.
The James Walter Ireland Memorial cup, was presented to the Amateur Wheelers by his step-father J. D. O’Connell (dentist, Alma street). It was in memory of James Walter Ireland who was better known as Jim. He was a member of the Rockhampton Amateur Wheelers and employed as a clerk at the Morning Bulletin. He was 19 years old when he died in September 1926 from a bout of influenza. The race was held on the saturday nearest September 12th each year.
Individual Time Trial (5km), from the bottom to the summit of Mount Archer. In the latter years was part of the Rockhampton Road Open Championships, it was competed for on the Sunday morning. It has not been run due to problems with road permits on Mount Archer.

In 2002 it was a Handicap for Juniors it was 8km from Victoria Park (Lion Creek Road) & Ridgelands Road.
