I am not a member of AusCycling but volunteer for my Club and generally work in the canteen or at a track/clubhouse working bee or similar. Do I require a WWCC?
AusCycling requires volunteers and members who work with children or who may have unsupervised access to children to obtain a working with Children Card (WWCC; in Qld it is known as a Blue card).
Generally, this would mean that in AusCycling disciplines and clubs, where it is more likely that children U18 are involved ie BMX, non-member volunteers should obtain a WWCC. A club should apply a reasonableness test but in all cases should err on the side of ensuring a volunteer has a WWCC, rather than does not.
Please register the Rockhampton Cycling Club as an interested party when you apply for the WWCC, as well as keeping the club informed through the club email.
Will my club have insurance cover?
All clubs affiliated with AusCycling will be provided with insurance cover.
